What is the Dive?
The Dive is a monthly compilation of what I’m reading on global politics, American society, and an assortment of odds and ends on history, science, philosophy, and pop culture. We’ll explore everything from America’s geopolitical rivalry with China, U.S. public opinion trends, and industrial policy ideas to the latest in space exploration, new music from Taylor Swift, and the dumb memes of the Star Wars prequels.

About Me
I’m Peter Juul, a senior policy analyst at the Center for American Progress - a center-left Washington think-tank where I’ve worked for more than a decade. In my day job, I work on a wide variety of subjects including the politics of U.S. foreign policy, Middle East policy, and space exploration, among other things. In addition to my work for CAP, I’ve published articles in venues as diverse as American Affairs, Wired, and Foreign Policy.
Outside of work, I maintain a blog for my personal musings on music, books, pop culture, philosophy, and current events. In my free time, you can catch me listening to Prince, watching The Mandalorian, or reading Seneca’s Letters on Ethics.
